Paying For An Order

Deposit, C.O.D., Purchase Orders, Forms of Payment, Credit Cards, Checks

Available payment options vary depending on the product you are purchasing, and your type of organization, as follows:

purchase order* Purchase Orders: Generally purchase orders are only accepted if: 1) It is a public University, School, or Government Agency; 2) The purchase order is issued on official University / School / Government letterhead and under the authority of that University / School / Government Agency itself; and 3) The dollar amount of the order is over $250.00. Purchase orders are offerred on a Net 30 basis. We will sometimes offer 2% / 10 terms on some orders, and when such an offer is available you can save 2% on the price of your order if we receive payment on your purchase order within 10 days after you place your order. We cannot accept purchase orders from private institutions, even if the private institution is a non-profit company.


DepositDeposit: When a deposit is required (like for choir gown orders) a minimum 50% deposit in the form of a check or credit card payment should accompany your order. Please note that our prices do not include shipping costs or applicable taxes for California locations.



C.O.D.C.O.D.: choir gowns are shipped via UPS or common carrier of your choice on a C.O.D. basis. UPS will collect the amount due, and then send the payment to Academic. UPS will accept a business or personal check, or another negotiable form of payment (but not currency). If UPS cannot collect the payment (they usually try and make three attempts, but make no promises), the package will be returned to Academic. Academic will hold the order for 90 days and attempt to make arrangements for delivery and payment with you, as well as compensation for our shipping costs for the first delivery attempt. If Academic cannot make such arrangements in that 90 days, we will dispose of the order it using your deposit to defray the additional expenses incurred.


PaymentForms of Payment: We accept many forms of payment, including credit cards (American Express, Diners Club, Discover, eCheck, JCB, MasterCard, Visa), and U.S. based personal checks, business checks, certified checks, and money orders. Most of these methods of paying are available for online orders or by fax, and all are accepted by mail. We do not accept orders over the phone (we need your signature or electronic certification). For overseas orders, we can sometimes make arrangements for wire transfers.


credit cardsPaying by Credit Card: You can pay by credit card by placing an online order, or by filling out the forms that come with our Catalog and mailing or faxing it to us, or Downloading a Form and faxing it to us. You will need a credit card authorization form filled out (found under the General Use Forms section). Please remember to include your credit card number, security code (three or four digits from the back of the card), expiration date, and signature.


CheckPaying by Check: You can pay for online orders using an eCheck, or you can pay for all other orders by either mailing us a check (which can be a personal check, business check, certified check, or money order), or you can download an eCheck form, fill it out, and fax it to us. If filling out an eCheck form, please remember to include the name on the account, the bank name, the Routing Number, and the Account number.
